Edward Holub · Writer · Director · DP

I've spent my career shooting for other people. Now I want to film the stories I've been writing.

portrait 2 1

I’ve built a career doing commercial and live-event work for clients — good work, real work, but rarely my own. Somewhere in there I never stopped writing. I’ve spent years on screenplays, and the older I get, the clearer it is what I actually should be doing: shooting my own stories, working with serious actors, directing shows that mean something, for a change.

UNDERBELLY is where that starts. It’s a New Orleans neo-noir I can execute right here, locally — I already have my own commercial team, my own camera package, a finished script. The one thing standing between “written” and “shot” is making sure the people doing the work with me get paid properly for it. That’s the entire ask: enough to cover and the actual expenses and a crew that already believes in this.

I’m not looking for a stranger to take a leap of faith on an idea. UNDERBELLY has a finished script, a clean chain of title, a crew committed on first dollar, and a financing structure already built around Louisiana’s film tax credit. What it needs now is someone who’s actually done this before — who knows the real distance between a finished script and a financed film, and who’s willing to talk me through how to close it.
